You can compare this to a hundred other war films and inevitably Lord of the Flies but please don't. Brilliant in its very own skin. Scratches all the right itches in all the right places and leaves your spine well and truly tingled. Left me wanting more. Bravo. 4.5/5

Blue Ruin

- revenge thriller that is definitely best served cold. Keeps you on the edge of your settee - nearly fell off mine. 3/5

The Impossible

- not afraid to say I cried like a new born baby throughout. Most powerful film I think I have ever seen. Shockingly good 4/5

The Rover

- one hell of a flaming gullah effort to bury a bloody dog! Promising but ultimately all a bit pointless. Shame. 2/5
