Thunder Road

It seems Napoleon Dynamite has a long lost uncle. He’s just as unique and refreshing. Sit back and delight in this gem of a film. Can’t wait to see it again - its a thing of beauty. 4/5

The Day Shall Come

Sometimes it just rides above your head and doesn't really land. This one floated away like a lost kite and never managed to capture my eagerness to catch it. 2/5

Captain Fantastic

I'm packing the family up and we're gonna live in the woods and read Chomsky, kill a few deer, play guitar and dance like nobody is watching. "If we choose, we can live in a world of comforting illusion." What a lovely romp this movie is. Indulge. 4/5

Lost In Translation

This movie never fails to deliver. Actually thought my wife was having kittens when Murray was on the cycling machine. Geniuses at work in all aspects of film here. Go on, indulge again it won't disappoint. 5/5

While We’re Young

- being 43, I can act my age AND my shoesize. (European) Which is a great comeback to my mother’s jibes at my behaviour. I’m glad I am no longer 25. It never suited me. Much like this movie. 2/5

The Meyerowitz Stories

A splendidly acted comedy. Well worth your viewing. Just sit back and enjoy the ride - I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's good to laugh and this has several spurt your tea all over your jumper moments. 4/5

It's All Gone Pete Tong

it certainly did but not as badly as you might think. Little fish little fish cardboard box.... I ain't gone none, he has, round the back.🙂 2/5

The Party

- great British film that begins and ends with a bang. Tremendous stuff indeed. Feel like you’re sitting on the front row of the Old Vic somehow. Twists and turns then bites you on the arse when you least expect it. Party on ... 4/5

Stan and Ollie

- wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Possibly the greatest comedy double act of all time - in fact no, The Greatest. What a fine fine mess indeed. 4/5

The Worlds End

The Worlds End - the pub crawl that should have ended the last time, if not the time before that. Formula running thin on the ground for me now. Shame, I used to love a pub crawl. Its all gone machiatto on us now. Time at the bar -- lads and lasses, lets have them glasses. 1/5

The Death Of Stalin

- wonderful Iannucci at the helm of this star studded romp which will have you laughing all the way to St Leninsgrad. A place that doesn’t exist and from which you will never return. 3.5/5

Eddie The Eagle

Childhood hero. This didn’t disappoint. We can be heroes just for one day. 3/5

David Brent - Life on the Road

As you would expect and as cringey as turning up to a funeral dressed as a coffin. Laughs a plenty. 3/5

Anchorman II

- i walked out of this one, realised I was watching at home. locked out my flat in my pants and socks. Funny. Movie is not. 1/5

Hector and The Search For Happiness

- critics panned it, fuck 'em, Simon Pegg - i think it was a lovely flick and that's all that counts sir. 4/5

What we did on our holiday

- everyone thinks their family is a little bit weird. All we left at the beach was a few towels. Watchable stuff. 3/5

One Hundred Foot Journey

- smelled a nice film but when served was disappointingly formulaic. More spice please - plain as Korma. 2/5

Force Majeure

- Run away or protect the kids? Swedish film that is dark, funny and very thought provoking. An avalanche whole lotta fun 4/5

Birdman

- if its not a monkey on your back its a bird on your shoulder. This is an epic not to be missed. Fly away never to return. 4.5/5

One Chance

- Corden does Potts, and does him very well. should be filed under "avoid like plague" but confront the illness & be surprised 3/5
