Only You

- raw and uncompromising story of a couple in their quest to conceive. Watchable, if not just for the sheer potential difficulties of procreation and the pain and frustration of not getting what your heart desires. 3/5

The Notebook

Slushy romantic all american love story - one review said would have me heading for the hankerchiefs. Really no call for that sort of behaviour. She’ll probably like it if you are in the dog house. 2/5

Brooklyn

- who says romance is dead? Come on who was it? Alive alive oh in this one. Not as bad as you might believe if she suggests it - give it a go. 3/5

Far from the Madding Crowd

Should have said yes in the first place - saved you a whole load of nonsense and tomfoolery. Hindsight eh? 4/5

The Invisible Woman

- Dickens knows what's going on here...and so did his wife. Nice period drama if there ever were such a thing. 3.5/5

Her

- sounds bonkers but a man falling in love with his operating system makes an amazing film. I'm now going out with my mouse, cheeky! 4/5

What Maisie Knew

 - poor little lassie gets thrown about like a tennis ball. Pootles along nicely but nowt to raise your appetite  3/5

Once

 - won an Oscar for best song. Well deserved. Great tunes and possibly maybe a great film. Give it a go - might as well. She would. 3/5

Anna Karenina

 - wonderfully shot movie that surprisingly tickled my fancy. Not sure what my fancy is but tickled it was nonetheless. 3/5

I Give it a Year

 - turning the tables on the average rom com. Great British cast that has a few laugh out loud moments. I give it three. 3/5

Your Sister's Sister

 - enjoyable romp that raises sibling rivalry to another level. Get it - she does. He doesn't. I did. Sort of. 3/5

Take this Waltz

-bloke next door movie that is a reality check sandwich. She'll lap it up -you will too - not sure why though. Life eh?  3/5

To Rome With Love

 - mash up of Woody Allen tales. Cruz is delightfully dirty and ditzy and keeps this flick alive. Passable, perhaps. 2/5

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen

 - this is not a doco on Rushdie on his hols. Its actually a decent flick that she'll leap upstream for. 3.5/5

Cafe de Flore

 - yet another gem from the frogs across the stream. Vanessa P always a treat too. Lap it up monsieur - she will too. 4/5

Crazy Stupid Love

 - romcom that came up trumps in the end. Hang on in there its just about worth the wait.  Steve Carrell big tick sir. 3/5

Elizabeth

 - she's over it like rash -  i reluctantly salute it. Blanchett on form but give me blackadder and queeny anyday over this  2.5/5

The Duchess

 - reminded me of that infamous 80's royal couple: Des and Daphne I believe. Everybody needs good royal families. Charming. 3/5

A Good Year

 - Your mother was a hamster and your father smells of elderberries. Engleeeesh pig dogs! Bearable romp - just about. 2.5/5

Midnight in Paris

- nostalgia aint what it used to be. Owen Wilson is magnifique. She'll love it. U will too mon petit dejeuner.Mon dieu 4/5
